Night of a Thousand Virgins

April 23, 2015 Episode 29
Cast: Steve Rees, John Kensil, Dr. Frielgood. Nick Vollmer
Guest: The Lengendary WID

Hello! I hope you're having a great day. Take a break for an hour and get in to this great TPAH from 2015. It's a WID episode!!

YAY!! It's Legendary WID time! He is just the greatest. I've heard rumors that there is documentary about him out there somewhere. I don't understand why it's not available to watch, rent, or buy. I would do all three of those. If anyone knows how to get their hands on it, please let me know. I can't get enough of WID's stories about his incredible life.

Every single time he's in, we learn more about him. On this TPAH we learn that he's one of seven kids and he's the middle. He claims his siblings are all funnier than him. Can you imagine? Seven WIDs? That's got to be the most fun family ever.

We also hear all about the *Laff House and his time there running the open mic and keeping people in line. I love that WID had to pull Kevin Hart off stage. It also always kills me that if WID didn't like your name or had a hard time pronouncing it, you were damn sure going to change it. They didn't get in to that in this episode, but a previous guest that had some juicy drama with TPAH changed his name because WID had a hard time pronouncing his real name. I love that. Can you imagine being so cool that people just change their name because you said so?

WID shares a story about starting his career performing with go-go girls at the Stone Pony in Asbury Park. He'd see Clarence Clemons there. Maybe Bruce Springsteen was there, but WID can't be bothered. Talk of Springsteen lead to my pick for alternate show title. "Born to Pun".

There's SO much going on in this episode. Everyone was really great, but when WID's there, it's a WID episode.

Enjoy episode 29!

Show description: The Legendary Wid comes back to the show and talks about running an urban comedy show, Norman Mailer, and puns galore. It's all that matters on the only podcast that matters.

*The Laff House was an "urban" comedy club on South Street in Philadelphia, Kensilvania. It's been closed for a few years now, but it was a cool place. I just tried to look it up, apparently it's reopened somewhere else. https://www.facebook.com/thelaffhouse/

Have a great day, Loves!
