April 9, 2015 Episode 27
Cast: Steve Rees, John Kensil, Dr. Frielgood, Midnight Martinez, Nick Vollmer
Caller: LUMB and Josh Jakubiw
Hello there!
Ready for some throwback TPAH? Get it on!
Steve kicks things off by introducing everyone, but then there's no one there except him and Nick. It just gets weirder from there. I had a hard time with this one. It's fun and it's funny, but for some reason my head's just not in the game today apparently.
Nick gives us the goddamn tweets of the week and fills us in on his goings on. Then, there's a phone call from this screw ball, LUMB. That stands for Living Under Manyunk Bridge. He gives us his entire lineage and Steve and Nick just let him. Eventually, Steve and Nick decide to just ignore him and they keep talking while LUMB just keeps going. It ends up being really funny, but it could have easily gone horribly wrong. Now, this is just speculation on my part, but I feel as though this is might be someone poking fun at a known open miker. (Micer? Mic'r? Who gives a shit?) Clearly there is a deeper meaning to this bit. I like it.
Sorry, Darlings, but I tuned out a little on this one. I have no clue what's going on over here. I'm going to cut this short and just take the L for the day. How about if I just post it and you listen to it and then let me know what you think?
Enjoy episode 27!
Show description: Steve and Nick go at it as a duo, as the boys discuss grooming, scams, and the ancestry of top stand-up comedian LIMB. Josh Jakubiw shares his experience of being scammed via a Craigslist hookup. It's all that matters on the only podcast that matters.

April 2, 2015 Episode 26
Cast: Steve Rees, John Kensil, Dr. Frielgood, Nick Vollmer
Guest: Jim McCauley
Caller: Eric Todd
Good morning!
Did you catch the live show last night? OMG! It was so goddamn funny. I laughed through the entire episode. I did it again this morning because I just couldn't stop thinking about it. After you enjoy a classic TPAH from the past, you should definitely hit up last night's show and let it keep you laughing while you're doing your Saturday chores and dealing with your stupid family. I'll link ya at the bottom.
Today's classic TPAH is supposed to be episode #25, Macho Mania from March 26, 2015. It's not available anywhere! I went to Google Podcasts first because that's my usual *jawn for listening and it couldn't play there. I went to Stitcher, it won't play there. I pulled it up on the Laffcast app, and it won't freaking play there. Now, you may be saying, "A-Plus, you dumb ass, they all get it from the same place. So, if it's broken it's going to be broken everywhere". Shut up! I know. But, I still had to check. I want to know why it won't play. I demand answers and I demand justice!
We'll just move on to the next one.
Oh boy! First of all, I apologize. I was wrong about Jim McCauley not being on again as I stated before. I remember the story he's telling, but I didn't have it all together in my head. He's got an incredible and rage-inducing story about the fund raiser he was plugging the last time he was on. Remember I told you to go there and make a donation in Jim's honor? You should still do that, but jeez, they didn't treat Jim very well. What a whole mess.
John shares a great second hand story about Gallagher being a jerk. John heard it all from an angry Lebanese guy. It's hilarious! The guys think they could get Gallagher in the studio. That would be awesome! It sounds like Gallagher is not a family friendly act like he used to be. They should get on that!
Eric Todd phoned in to plug a show. The great Greg Lynn was going to be there too. The show was going to be BYOB. Hmmmm.....does Steve have a story about BYOBing at this place? Eric also shares about the sweet job he landed. It sounds awesome. I want to do it! We find out that Eric was writing a blog at the time. I went in search of this blog. So far, no luck. I'll for sure share it if and when I find it. It sounds like there are great stories on there.
Dan Friel hit Jim with The Door Test. Jim takes issue with the whole looney idea of it. Didn't Jim fail the door test once already? Gee whiz!! No one remembers. I don't remember either. It's a weird thing to fail twice. LOL!
Jeff Simmons shared the details about his new podcast, Turnin' The Tables. Find it here: http://www.laffcast.com/archive/tables/ He had our Steve on and they did a new, updated version of Steve's classic hit, "I Don't Like Snakes", just IDLS to super fans. It's great!
This is a fun episode! I'll wrap up there and leave it to you it. There's even more going on after this point. Including Steve somehow getting the other guys to dig through his stupid mail to find his new debit card for him.
Enjoy episode 26!

Global Medium Alert: *Jawn is a good word to use when you can't think of the right word for the jawn you're thinking of. I use this word when I'm trying to think but I keep getting distracted and interrupted and I can't keep my shit together. In our part of Kensilvania, most people think it's perfectly acceptable to call any jawn a jawn. I have a feeling that Steve doesn't like it.

Bring Your Own Gabagool
March 19, 2015 Episode 24
Cast: Steve Rees, Dr. Frielgood, Nick Vollmer
Guest: Chris Morganti
Callers: Dino Cavolatino - That's probably not spelled correctly. I'm not Italian enough to work out the phonics on that name. Also on the hotline, the great Greg Lynn!
Hello! I hope you're ready for your classic TPAH. Our entry today is a super fun time. What kind of dipshit doesn't love a super fun time?
Chris Morganti is in as a guest. He wasn't a full timer yet at this point. I'm glad he became a regular part of the show. He's the greatest. I love the story he tells about being asked to be a part of the live TPAH the previous summer. He went to an open mic hoping to get his juices flowing and have his shit together for the live show. It didn't go the way he'd expected it to.
Just sayin: I don't know how comedians put up with that open mic shit. I guess they have to do it, but the whole scene just sounds like a depressing grind to me. How can you possibly feel like being funny after you've been sitting around in a room for hours and hours with a bunch of other comedians? I just don't get it. Thank god they do it though. Where would we be without funny stand up comedians? Oh wait. We'd be in America in 2019. That's a rant for a different day, though. Back to the show.
Thanks to his Jesus H. Christ character, Chris landed a sweet gig playing Jesus in a movie. Oh boy! Poor Chris didn't make it to a shoot. You'll have to hear him tell it. He probably wished for his shit to be together in this scenario too.
All of his characters are great. 50's Comic is my favorite. The talk of his many characters is hilarious.
The first caller has tales of being on the Sopranos, an upcoming comedy show, and a BYOG show with Good Ole Proto. He's got a lot going on. It's a whole saga and it's really funny.
The 50's Comic finally makes an appearance to talk about Danica Patrick! Good stuff!
The great Greg Lynn calls in next to talk about an episode of an internet-tv-show-ridiculousness that Bryan Leichter was producing. Oy! Greg seems to think Bryan did a decent job. Maybe he did. Who knows or cares?
Poor Greg gets the phone call silent treatment. That's not nice, you guys!!
Speaking of the great, multi talented, top everything Greg Lynn, he designed the first The Passive Aggressive Hour tee shirt. You can get one here:
https://teespring.com/stores/the-passive-aggressive-hour !!
Click on a style, pick a color, order it, and help TPAH keep going.
Need your own shirt designed? Need a flyer for your upcoming event? How about an incredible song parody written and performed? Find Greg Lynn. He can do it all! https://www.facebook.com/GraphicsByGreg
That's not an ad, we just love Greg.
Enjoy episode 24!

A Sack of Potatoes
March 12, 2015 Episode 23
Cast: Steve Rees, John Kensil, Dr. Frielgood, Midnight Martinez, Nick Vollmer
Guests: Andrew Mahon and Rick Robotin
Callers: Volodymyr, the Eastern European Fan. He just happened to be hanging out with "Sean Moses" so we hear from him too.
Hello Darling. I hope you had a great weekend! We're back in business this week now that the holiday and the incredible TPAH 200 are behind us. If you haven't caught the 200th episode extravaganza spectacular experience yet, make sure you check it out.
Today's TPAH from the past is super fun! Andrew Mahon and Rick Robotin are great guests. They're here to teach us about burlesque. Andrew straight up schools our beloved Steve. You guys, I don't really want to ruin anything, but Steve concedes a point and then apologizes twice!
Check out the beautiful women of Whiskey Kitten Cabaret. https://www.facebook.com/thewhiskeykittens
They were supposed to be on the show, but we're told they couldn't make it because it was a "sewing night". Sewing night? What the hell? Everyone just accepted that as an excuse and didn't try to dig further. Clearly, it's a bullshit excuse. Did our heroes just not want to talk about girls making up lame reasons to not hang out with them? I would have liked to hear more about this. "Sorry. I can't make it. That's my sewing night." is my new response to invites to shit I don't want to go to.
Hmmm...now I'm thinking about it. Maybe they really did have to sew stuff. Maybe they make their own costumes . Or, maybe their costumes get messed up and they have to fix them. Could be. Steve could've gotten the answers for us, but he didn't. We'll never know. Either way, I like it.
John had a great line even though we don't agree with it, "I always thought the difference between strippers and burlesque was about 20 pounds". Oh John.
Our favorite Eastern European fan, Volodymyr gives us another great call. He has a wonderful story about going to a BYOP comedy show. Life isn't so different in Eastern Europe!
Volodymyr was standing right next to this "Sean Moses" character and let him get on the phone. Oh boy. His whole scheme was all just jokes and pranks apparently. No harm done. He's funny and nice. We can't stay mad at him. It was sweet of him to give his exclusive statement to his very best friends, the guys from TPAH.
John's got some great stories from his Twitter life.
Andrew lets everyone know that there's a comedy competition coming up and Good Ole Proto and Kricket Lee are both going to be there. Oh boy! If you don't know why that's funny I don't know how to help you anymore, Darling. I'll link ya again but really, get your shit together.
There's more fun burlesque talk and other funny chit chat.
Pay attention to the incredible Nick Vollmer throughout this entire show. My god. He is hilarious!
We find out that Steve doesn't care for the great INXS song, "Never Tear Us Apart." He's wrong.
I freaking love this song.
Enjoy episode 23!

TPAH Tees!
Good morning! Happy Easter if you're in to that. Did you catch TPAH 200 last night? What a hoot!! Of course it will be covered here on E.C., but there's so much Easter Bunny stuff going on around me right now, I want to jump into that!
One thing I want to share real quick is the link to the TPAH Tees. This shirt isn't just "merch". It's out there with the hopes that it will help the guys with equipment and whatever costs they run into as things change after Laffcast. Please take a look. The amazing Greg Lynn from Graphics By Greg was very kind to design this for them and they came out great. There are many styles and many colors. You're sure to find one you love. Thanks in advance!

Better Horn Bjorn
February 26, 2015 Episode 22
Cast: Steve Rees, John Kensil, Dr. Frielgood, Midnight Martinez, Nick Vollmer
Guest: Troy Moore
Callers: Eastern European Fan, Benny Michael, and Roger Weaver
Hello Darling! Did you have a great week? Me too.
This episode from the past is a lot of fun! Dr. Frielgood gives us a fanciful, Disneyfied The Door Test. Troy Moore is exposed as a non listener. We like him anyway. There's fun, smooth, enjoyable conversation.
We're treated to a hilarious phone call from an Eastern European fan. I wish he would call more often. It might be hard with the hand crank phone situation or whatever they've got going on. He seems to know more about the show than anyone. It's good stuff.
Then, Benny from Podcheese chimes in to give us even more insight into the Case Of Beer At The BYOB Comedy Show Saga. Turns out, it could have been a 30 pack, but Steve thought that would be outrageous.
Sounds like a full, action packed show, right? There's yet another great call. Roger Weaver hit up the studio with his usual fun and funny.
This is a fun show for a Friday morning when you're just trying to get some shit done and get the hell out of work. This hour goes remarkably fast. There's no super drama or shenanigans, just fun talk.
Enjoy episode 22!
Show description: Troy Moore, top stand-up comic, joins the guys. A fan call from Eastern Europe eases international relations, Wacky Benny Michaels tells his side of a story Steve has beaten to death, and Roger Weaver gives Johnny Carson a run for his money.

Superstar Spangled Banner
February 19, 2015 Episode 21
Cast: Steve Rees, John Kensil, Nick Vollmer
Guest: The Legendary WID
Good morning! Today's classic TPAH is incredible. We've got one of the greatest Wid episodes ever.
There's nothing I can say. You just have to experience it for yourself. If you're new to Legendary WID Culture, this is mandatory listening. You'll learn a lot.
I've heard Wid on other shows and he's always great, but no one can interview him like Steve Rees. Wid and our beloved John Kensil were on another podcast the other night. Wid was telling a story about sitting between Elizabeth Taylor and Al Pacino at a function he sneaked in to and the host of the show pretty much cut him off to yell at his producer or something. I don't think he went back to the story or asked any follow up questions. I was stunned. How do you not want to hear more of that story? To be fair, I didn't listen to the whole show. Maybe they went back to it later or something. That doesn't seem likely, though. Steve would never pull some shit like that. He gets us every last delicious piece of a story and knows when to move it to the next one. He's amazing.
This episode would have to be included in a "Best Of" for everyone that's on it.
One person that I was thrilled to hear them talk about in this episode is The Amazing Jonathan. Wid mentions that Jonathan was dying. He's totally not dead though! I'll link ya to his twitter and some other stuff at the bottom.
Enjoy episode 21!

Chubby Blonde Diaries
February 12, 2015 Episode 20
Cast: Steve Rees, Dr. Frielgood, Midnight Martinez, Nick Vollmer
Guests: Josh Jakubiw, Rick Robotin, and Bradley Beck
Caller: Pat Kelly
Hello Darling! Oh boy and oh brother. This one's a roller coaster!
John Kensil wasn't in the studio this particular night. Dr. Frielgood handed out the tweets. He's great every time!
Steve's old comedy pal and *TDTF partner, Pat Kelly is on the phone. Before Pat can even say anything, Steve brings up that Norwegian super group, A-Ha had been mentioned in the Goddamn Tweets and he has an A-Ha story to share. The story goes that he was laying in bed with his ex after they had sex and she asked what he was thinking about. He was thinking about an A-Ha album. Darling, I was totally ok with this story. I'm a big girl (duh!) and I'm not bothered by Steve's history at all. HOWEVER, then he said he had to "towel off" and go do something. I didn't hear the rest of the sentence. Towel off? Who says that? My Sweet Baboo, apparently. Gee whiz! Somebody hold my hair, please.
Anyway, on with the show. Pat Kelly brings us tales of bygone comedy days with Steve. There's also a funny story about Pat and Steve being hired to be private dicks for a restaurant owner for some freaking reason. Hijinx ensue. They also talk about how they used to argue a lot back in the day. They got past all of that and they're friends again, so that's good.
Pat's going to read from Steve's diary. It's actually called, "Chubby Blonde Diaries". Lucky for us, he was writing down everything that was going on in his life back then. Before we get there, we're treated to some voicemails that were left for Josh Jakubiw after he posted his penis all over MySpace.
The diary entries are hilarious! Boy oh boy are we learning a lot about Steve in this one. He had a gigantic crush on a big ole blonde waitress. I picture her like this:
At the time he also had a sitch with his junk. I don't try to think about what that looked like. Other people don't have to wonder because Steve took them into a corn field and showed them with the hopes that someone could tell him what was going on with it. Luckily, the junk problem and the waitress are both long gone.
Pat and Steve also talk about TDTF history and the plans for a reunion show that was coming up. I wish I'd known about that at the time. Pat was a good phone guest.
This was a fun show with fun guests! Whenever we get to hear something that Steve wrote, it's going to be a good time. I almost can't wait to get to the 50 Shades of Grace episodes. Hot stuff!!!
Enjoy episode 20! Then towel off.
Show description: Pat Kelly joins the guys. He talks about the time he and Steve were contracted to tail a tween perp and reads excerpts from Steve's old comedy diary. Josh Jakubiw shares voice mails from the MySpace days from people who objected to his penis photos. Bradley Beck and Rick Robotin bowl into the fray as well. It's all that matters on the only podcast that matters.

Mutant Robby Benson
February 5, 2015 Episode 19
Cast: Steve Rees, John Kensil, Midnight Martinez, Nick Vollmer
Guests: Matthew Tsang and Christian Alsis
Happy Saturday, Darling! I hope you were able to catch the live show last night. It was great. If not, you can always head over to the facebook page and get it today. Do it after you enjoy today's classic, Mutant Robby Benson. I can't believe we're at episode 19 already! Gee whiz! I'm having so much fun going back through these. There were so many things that I missed on my first time through. I hope that you're enjoying it too.
Before I get in to this episode, here's a picture of Robby Benson.
I totally enjoyed looking for a picture to share with you. This one is clearly old, but the newer pictures of him that I found are just dreamy. Google him! He's wonderful to look at. If you weren't a little girl in the late 70's or early 80's you might not get it. He was a whole deal though.
I had to listen to this episode twice in a row to be able to present it to you. It's probably been at least a year since I've heard it and for the second time, I was crying laughing through it. Oh.My.God. This one has got it ALL! Episode 19 is sitting right at the top of my 10 favorite episodes list.
To start things off we are treated to The Goddamn Tweets being presented by John's cousin, Woody. Hilarious!
We learn about Matthew Tsang's old stage name and why he changed it. This takes us to a fun conversation about using a fake name when you order food to make people at sandwich shops say weird shit. There's more easy, breezy, fun talk going on. Weird Russian markets, plaid bananas, and things of that nature.
The last time Steve saw Matthew was at the BYOB show where Steve and the Podcheese hosts brought a case of beer for themselves. Matthew apparently had comments. He doesn't remember though. Steve thinks that young comedians are pussies now. He's right. A case of beer split among three people is eight beers each. They're grown men. It shouldn't be an issue. In my drinking years, eight beers was about the right number to have while you're doing your hair and makeup before you go out drinking. Frankly, I'm surprised they only had a case. Either way. We're old people now saying shit like "back in my day". That's not cute. But still. Young people should get it together.
The great Nick Vollmer debuted his Archway Story. It's fantastic!
Up to this point it's a great show. There's tons of funny, easy conversation and lots of laughs. Hold on to your hat, Darling!
The talk turns to the previous episode and all the drama around Good Ole Proto and the incomparable Joe Murdock. Christian Alsis recaps it in a most masterful way. Then, we find out that Joe actually called the studio after the last show. HERE WE GO! I'm not able to explain this in any way that does it justice. This is another that you just HAVE to hear.
Here's a picture of Joe so you can have an image of him in your head for the rest of the show.
Get tea'd up and enjoy espisode 19!

I don't know about you, but I LOVE and live for shows like this one. It's so freaking juicy.
Just sayin: Murdock sort of let me down. As you heard in the last episode, he was going on and on about not wanting any attention. Then, he called back twice to plug his upcoming show. That was genius! I totally thought he did it on purpose and he got the joke. Apparently not. He should have just left it alone. But, lucky for us, he didn't!
Just sayin another thing: If you turned up the volume to be able to better hear the incredible phone call, know that there will be LOUD sound effects a few minutes in. Be ready so you don't drop your toast and spill your coffee like I did.
The Call gave me my favorite quote, "Why are you doing this to me, Man?". - Joe Murdock
I'm exhausted from laughing.
There's more talk of the whole sitch after the call. So good!
Before the show ends, we get an update on Christian Alsis' balls. I told you this one had it all!!

Angela Lansburys Snatch
January 29, 2015 Episode 18
Cast: Steve Rees, John Kensil, Dr. Frielgood, Midnight Martinez
Guests: Jake Mattera and Brad Beck
Caller: Joe Murdock
Good morning! I'm heading out soon to find a good sport to give us our Stranger Radio pick, but for the second time this week I'm getting some alone time with my coffee and the sun coming up. Ahhhhhh... I live for these moments. So, let's get in to episode 18.
Top stand-up Jake Mattera shared great inside info about working for Conan. It sounds like a totally enjoyable experience. That's weird, isn't it? Don't we normally hear that working for shows like that is an actual nightmare and the star of the show is always an asshole? It seems like the opposite is true in the Conan world. Who knew Conan was so tall? It was news to me. I don't know squat about late night shows or anyone on them, though. I watched Arsenio a few times because I was in my 20's and it was the law. Other than that, they're all past my bedtime. So, this was nice to hear.
Then Jake was asked about working at the *Preston and Steve show. Oh boy!! Our Steve does not really care for that show. He does say he has "time for Preston", though. P&S are alright. Jake has nothing but nice things to say about them. I've never heard anything bad about them as people. Nice guys, it seems. Bradley jumped in with a funny assumption that our Steve has beef with them because it's not, "Preston and Steve Rees". Good one, Brad! Steve thinks that the only people that listen to P&S are women. Could be. Steve has many valid points. Gadzooks!
Brad was invited to the show to tell a story of some scandalous drama that happened. We immediately find out that he didn't witness the drama. He just saw the aftermath unfold online. I'm taking back 3 of the 5 points I gave him for the funny dis on Steve.
Wait!! I'm giving Brad 4 points for even bringing this up. Holy smokes, you guys. This is freaking hilarious. The scandalous drama took place at the WitIn Awards. We learned about them in episode 16, remember? Anyway, Good Ole Proto was one of the stars of the drama. The other was the incomparable Joe Murdock. It was a goofball on goofball crime. Good Ole Proto apparently carries a butter knife for protection. Ooof! I'm not going to louse it all up trying to tell the story. You have to hear it.
Joe Murdock calls in to tell his side. WOWSERS!!! He can't hang with our beloved Steve Rees at all. It's so freaking funny, you guys. Just get in to it. There's too much going on. I'll say this, Joe Murdock as a call in guest makes Bryan Leichter look like Gore Vidal. It's painful at times. He's awful and yet he's some kind of genius. I don't want to ruin it. He does pull off some funny toward the end of the show.
Man oh man this is a fun show!!
Have a great Friday!
Enjoy episode 18!

Cut From The Same Maroon Cloth
January 22, 2015 Episode 17
Cast: Steve Rees, Dr. Frielgood, Midnight Martinez, Nick Vollmer
Guests: Jim McCauley, Rock Robotin, and Josh Bennett
Good morning, Darling. I woke up craving some TPAH. Lucky me, I had enough time to enjoy an entire episode with my coffee before anyone even knew I was up. These are my favorite kinds of mornings.
Today's TPAH was SO much fun to listen to. The guests are great, the stories are great, there's a metric shit ton of laughs.
There's talk of being a bouncer and the dum-dums you come in contact with in that job.
The conversation about comedy contests made me believe that comedy contests are dumb. Who benefits from that other than the club that's throwing it? I don't get it.
Everyone talked about improv for a while. Ugh. Improv. I'm sure it can be great and there's probably people who are really good at it and it might be a fun show to watch somewhere. I've not been exposed to any of that. So, based on what I've experienced watching improv and meeting people that are WAY into improv, I say, "ugh". Deal with it.
Joke stealing made it's way into the talk. Of course, Good Ole Proto's name came up. He seems to be the standard in joke stealing. I'm calling him Good Ole Proto forever.
Steve was on fire in this episode. He cracked me up a million times. This one is also a great example of Steve being a masterful host. There are so many people in the studio sometimes that it's nuts. He makes sure that everyone gets to say whatever they've come to say, he includes everyone that wants to contribute to whatever comes up in the conversation, but he knows how to keep things moving. The more I listen to him the more he impresses me. It was wonderful to watch live too. He's really very good at his job.
Steve gave me my pick for alternate show title: Steve Rees Saves The Orphans
He also gave me my favorite quote: "Jeff, is THIS why?". That's for super fans!
Nick Vollmer was also incredible in this one. Every time he chimed in it was freaking hilarious.
I did a thing that I normally don't. While I was listening to Jim McCauley at the beginning of this show I went to find him on facebook. He sounded really nice, was a great guest, and I was curious why he hasn't been on again. I was really sad to find out that he's actually passed away. He died in March of 2016. He was only 45. That completely sucks and was not the news I was expecting. I feel sad and weird that I read that news while I was laughing at the story he was telling on the show.
The show that he plugged on TPAH was a fundraiser for an organization called Kisses for Kyle. Jim seemed to be excited to support it. If you liked him on TPAH, maybe make a little donation in his honor now. http://www.kissesforkyle.org/
Enjoy episode 17!

The show that he plugged on TPAH was a fundraiser for an organization called Kisses for Kyle. Jim seemed to be excited to support it. If you liked him on TPAH, maybe make a little donation in his honor now. http://www.kissesforkyle.org/
Enjoy episode 17!

French Stewart's Conjoined Twin
Episode 16 January 15, 2015
Cast: Steve Rees, John Kensil, Midnight Martinez, Dr. Frielgood, Nick Kupsey
Guests: Steve Miller-Miller, David Piccolomini, and Bradley Beck
Two fer!! The next episode was an easy peasy breezy one, so we'll have two today. This one's a hoot! We learn all about the WitIn and WitOut awards. I tried to get links for information to share, but I keep finding the Women In Technology Awards. That's not the same thing. There's really no need for me to school you on it. Just listen to this classic TPAH and Steve Miller-Miller and David Piccolomini will give you what you need.
Nick Kupsey was there, but went somewhere. I feel like he went to google "larper".
Enjoy the excellent episode 16!

You Just Got Whippled
Episode 15 January 8, 2015
Cast: Steve Rees, John Kensil, Midnight Martinez, Dr. Frielgood, Nick Vollmer
Guests: Greg Lynn, Kricket Lee, Jesse Keim
Hi! I hope your day is going great. Our episode today is a must listen for anyone who likes comedy or likes to think of themselves as a comedian. It's a hilarious cautionary tale. Greg Lynn, Jesse Keim, and Kricket Lee are in studio to raise awareness of joke thievery. The example of what not to do is Matty Whipple. Him and the jokes he's told on stage are discussed at length.
Top broadcaster, Benny Michael was supposed to be part of the show that night. He didn't show up possibly because he was mad at Steve because Steve didn't like a joke that Benny thought was hilarious. Gee whiz, Benny! I'm glad they've put that fight behind them and are once again BFFs.
Allentown, Kensilvania's own, Jesse Keim starts us off with the tale of Matty Whipple on stage in the Poconos. Jesse claims that all or most of Matty's material is not original. Examples are given. Nick wants to know, "Now, does this guy have cancer?". That's a throwback to good ole Mr. Proto and it made me laugh out loud. Gotta love Nick Vollmer!
You'll enjoy the Matty Whipple audio and all the talk that stems from it. Is it true that Matty stole a joke from our beloved Greg Lynn? How rude!!! Maybe it was parallel thinking. Maybe it was straight up, downright, no shit joke stealing.
We're treated to Matty Whipple on the phone. Or, are we? No one thinks it's really him. Maybe it's Bradley Beck doing a Matty Whipple impression? Either way, it's freaking funny!
This show is from 2015, maybe Matty Whipple has cleaned up his act and he no longer uses jokes that he didn't actually write. It looks like he might be more into performing magic now. In case you give a shit about finding out, I'll link ya at the bottom.
Just Sayin - If I go out to watch some comedy, I wouldn't know if someone is using someone else's jokes. Of course, there are certain things I would recognize from people that I'm a fan of, but if you're telling an Anthony Jeselneck joke, I would never know. Most people that are just sitting at a comedy show to have a good time aren't ever going to know that your jokes are stolen and they're going to forget them and you before they even get back to the car. That being said, it's a really shitty thing to do!! Just don't freaking do it. If you can't write jokes, don't try to be a comedian you complete asshole. At least think about the fact that other comics are going to talk shit about you on podcasts!
This show was hilarious from beginning to end. There are tons of great quotes and possible alternate show titles. I can't even pick favorites.
Enjoy episode 15!
